Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, who is an academic as well as Anna Silk who is an actress, director as well as a producer and playwright. Anna recalls some of her earliest memories of childhood when she used to watch her mother's performance in play rehearsals. Silk appeared in several commercials while she was young. She earned a Bachelors in Arts in the field of theater at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the beginning: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto for acting classes to advance in November, 1999. In the following decade, she moved to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, after they met during an Actorsworkshop at Los Angeles. They were married in the civil ceremony on December 10, 2009, after becoming engaged. They renewed their vows April 10th of 2011, in Fredericton, after the bride converted to Judaism.
