Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles included two roles on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in the ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Her parents did not allow her to perform in front of her family until she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the stress it would cause. Perry confessed that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school, but started acting to make friends in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then led Perry back to California and theater roles were in demand. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom on Broadway in 2013. In 2015, she starred with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in The Family, an ABC drama The Family, in 2016. Her father played her character in the ABC show Scandal. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close familial connection to the character.
