Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and writer. Raised by her mother within the USA she had to face a lot of racial taunts which gave her feeling of being unwelcome. As she entered the 9th grade she felt more comfortable after she was praised by her teachers for singing at a school's audition. This not only increased her confidence, but it altered the direction of her career. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. The role of The lad from The Lake became her most memorable success, and earned an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her role. In the year following, she joined the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album and an extended piece. She is also an activist who is active to promote LGBT rights.
